HI Lisa. Thanks for reading. I read over some of your blog (hope you don't mind) and I have to say, as far as being adversely affected by Mr. Aranza (or fundamentalist Christianity in general), you've got me beat by a mile. Not that this is a competition of course, but you've experienced that world in a way I can only imagine. For whatever it's worth, I'm glad you got out.

I do find it interesting and somewhat amusing that his son has read my blog, his utter lack of spelling ability notwithstanding. Apparently my blog entry on Aranza shows up quite high in the Google search results for his name. It makes me wonder if the man himself has read it.

Whatever the case, thanks again for reading, and best wishes to you in the future.

The score was really good. I'd actually like to hear it again without the movie - I wonder if it's available on CD?

"Ravenous" just seemed silly at points. There were some genuinely scary moments, but the chase sequences were more slapstick than anything else. It failed on both parts of the black comedy equation. But that's just me.

I unfortunately skipped quite a bit of this post because I haven't seen House of the Devil yet, but I wanted to say "Awww, you didn't like Ravenous?" I like that one a lot.

Comment on Thesaurus Songs by Douglas Campbell

A friend recommended one additional Thesaurus Song - "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette. It certainly meets some of the criteria: one word that features prominently in the name and chorus, and one that seems a bit awkward in its invocation. In addition to the standard objections to the song, in particular its lyrics (that little of what Ms. Morissette sings about is actually ironic), it is truly a terrible song, which certainly does not disqualify it as a Thesaurus Song.

Anyone else? Nominations?
